How does miraDry work?
MiraDry uses heat energy to destroy sweat and odor glands under the skin in the underarm area. First, Dr. Carter places topical anesthetic on the underarm treatment areas. Next, the handpiece is placed on the target area, and it exerts a slight suction to draw the skin up just a bit. Then proprietary energy waves are delivered down into the skin, while at the same time the miraDry system cools your skin to keep you comfortable. The energy converts to heat when it contacts the sweat and odor glands, permanently destroying them.
What are the results with miraDry?
On average, users report an 82 percent reduction in sweat production in the treated areas. Most patients only require one treatment, but occasionally a second treatment is requested.
Does miraDry hurt and is the procedure safe?
