Dermal Fillers Bend, OR

What are fillers?

Dermal fillers are biocompatible materials that are being used in cosmetic surgery today to restore the fullness of the patient’s face, plump up the lips, enhance facial contours, or soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. They have often been referred to as “liquid facelifts” because many benefits that they offer are very similar to those of a surgical facelift, but without the disadvantage of extended downtime. Soft tissue fillers are able to provide immediate results at a significantly lower cost than actual surgery. And despite the fact that the effects achieved with these treatments are only temporary, the treatments may be repeated overtime in order to maintain the optimal results. The use of fillers may also be utilized in conjunction with other rejuvenation treatments for more stunning results.

What are the types of sellers in the market?

Restylane

Restylane is a filler derived from naturally occurring hyaluronic acid and comes in a formulation of hyaluronic acid particles suspended in a gel matrix. It is known to be effective against fine lines and wrinkles, nasolabial folds, and crows feet. Effects obtained with Restylane will last for up to six months or longer and it has been proven to be effective against moderate to severe wrinkles and facial folds. Patients with severe allergies or a history of allergic reactions are advised against using Restylane to prevent unwanted complications.

Juvederm

Juvederm is another hyaluronic acid derivative filler that comes in an injectable gel formula. Juvederm creates renewed volume under the skin, which makes it highly effective against moderate to severe wrinkles and facial folds, with its effects lasting for up to one year for some patients. Patients with known allergies to bacterial proteins are not suitable for the use of Juvederm.

Juvederm Voluma

Juvederm Voluma is the first and only FDA approved filler to correct age-related volume loss in the midface.  With a true optimal treatment, natural-looking results may sometimes last up to 2 years.  It is highly effective for severe skin laxity and facial folds.  Patients with known allergies to bacterial proteins are not suitable for the use of Juvederm Voluma.

Radiesse

Radiesse is a synthetic wrinkle filler that is composed of calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres suspended in a gel matrix that is injected directly underneath the skin or the underlying muscles of the wrinkles to soften their appearance. The effects achieved with Radiesse can typically last for up to one year or longer since research has shown that Radiesse can influence natural collagen production over time.

Scupltra

Sculptra is a synthetic poly-L-lactic acid derivative that is used mainly for its volumizing effect, which has been beneficial for patients with HIV who are in need of facial structure augmentation. This synthetic filler is intended for deep injections, preferably below the muscles and is not indicated for the treatment of fine lines and wrinkles.

Platelet Rich Plasma or PRP

Selphyl (Platelet Rich Plasma or PRP), by definition is platelets and plasma.  Dermatologists can use this proven technology to correct the signs of skin aging.  A small amount of your blood is collected and through a patented process, separates and concentrates your platelets and fibrin.  The resulting Platelet Rich Fibrin Matrix (PRFM) can be applied to rejuvenate and increase skin volume.  The procedure is quick with no post-procedure down time and offers natural and lasting effects.
