No matter what you think about your neighbor with the, seemingly, great skin; no matter what you see on TV or the movies; we all age. Your supply of collagen dwindles as you age, and with it your skin’s support structure. We can fight extrinsic aging because it is caused by sun and environmental damage. But the intrinsic skin aging that simply comes with age is a given.

To combat this, at Deschutes we use long-lasting Sculptra Aesthetic to replace lost collagen and correct shallow to deep facial wrinkles and folds.

Sculptra, unlike other fillers

Unlike most fillers, where your results are instant, Sculptra is different. After your Sculptra session, you’ll see improvement, but your real improvement will come over time. This filler is made from poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), which works in the dermis layer of the skin to replace lost collagen. Because it slowly rebuilds collagen, Sculptra is the first facial injectable that gives you subtle results over time. This makes for a natural-looking appearance that keeps improving, not an instant change as with other fillers. You won’t return to work and look markedly different the next day. We recommend three injection sessions over a few months for the best results. These results can then last for over two years!

How does it work?

Sculptra is injected more deeply than most fillers, into the deep dermal layer of the skin. Microparticles of PLLA work within the deep dermis to rebuild lost collagen and provide structural skin support. As the PLLA is absorbed a collagen framework is created. This reinforced collagen structure provides a foundation that gradually restores the look of fullness to shallow to deep wrinkles and folds.

What aging effects are best for Sculptra?

Sculptra is effective for:

  • Deep folds between the nose and mouth (nasolabial folds), also called smile lines
  • The lines framing your mouth (marionette lines)
  • Chin wrinkles
