Microblading Bend, Oregon

Microblading is a form of semi-permanent make up done to create fuller, more defined eyebrows. Unlike traditional tattooing, microblading is a form of tattoo artistry where pigment is implanted within the skin using a manual, handheld tool instead of a machine. Delicate, individual hair-like strokes are drawn to mimic the existing hairs in your brows. The technique creates a very natural and pleasing look, unlike traditional permanent make up which may result in brows that look grey and artificial. Tara McKenna, Medical Aesthetician, became certified after an extensive and comprehensive 6 week training process at 3D Brows Academy.

Who can benefit from microblading?

  • Anyone who wants the convenience of perfect brows every day with no effort!
  • Anyone with the decreased hair density that comes with age, genetics, illness, over plucking or waxing
  • Anyone who has decreased vision and difficult drawing or using a brow powder

How many treatment sessions does it take to microblade the eyebrows?

The procedure is split into two appointments which are spaced 4-6 weeks apart. The bulk of the tattoo will be created during the first visit. The second appointment will be for fine tuning once the healing is complete.

How long does the procedure take?

The first appointment will take between 60 to 90 minutes. Your second appointment will take 30 to 60 minutes.

What should I expect to look like immediately after the procedure?

Immediately after the procedure, the pigment will appear very sharp and dark. This is because the pigment is still sitting on top of your skin and has not yet settled in completely. The color of the pigment will soften gradually.

Your new eyebrows will go through several phases during the healing cycle. True reflection of healed color can only be assessed 3-4 weeks after treatment. Touch-ups and/or correction of the shape/design is recommended at least 4 weeks after initial treatment. It will go from too dark, to too light, to just right!

What is the maintenance required over time?

Microblading creates a semi-permanent tattoo that requires periodic touch up over time. Though it may vary somewhat, results usually last between 12-24 months before a touch up is required.

Does it hurt? And what can be done to make the process more comfortable?

Most clients report that the procedure is virtually painless with our medical strength topical numbing technique. For those who are especially sensitive, injectable anesthesia is also available, though is rarely required.

How is the treatment personalized for each patient?

Each client is evaluated based on several factors including face shape, current brow shape, age, skin tone, hair color, and individual brow shape preference to design the most naturally beautiful microbladed eyebrows.

What if I already have traditional permanent make up tattooed brows that I don’t like? Can microblading be done over the top of these?

Microblading can be done over the top of some existing tattooed eyebrows, but old brow tattoos can also be removed with our Q-switched laser to create a “clean slate” if needed.
